I think it was just the gaiaphage. If the whole world was just outside it would be too simple. I like the alternate universe/ hacked universe theory from Gone

I think they did see out of it.

It showed the outside of the FAYZ at the beggining through the perspective of Orsay. Later in the book it was brought into question whether or not orsay's visions were real. It was then answred that Nerezza was infact the avatar of the Gaiaphage. This strengthened he accusation that Orsay's visions were false but did not give a definate answer. The fact that the reader did not know the answer builds suspence and tension that makes the reader want to continue until a definate answer is given and get the successing books.
I.e. The fact that we don't know makes it interesting for us!

I'm fairly sure it was fake seeing as so far the books have gone for a somewhat (excluding powers monsters, etc.) realistic portrayal of things and In reality this sort of thing would never be handled in the way Orsays visions showed so I'm fairly sure it was all smoke and mirrors on the Giaphage's part.

I think they really did see the outside for a few seconds. It would be so cool to read the media's point of view if they actually saw the inside. Like they were filming it and they zoomed into what they saw. hahah.

I don't think they really saw the outside of the FAYZ. I don't think there's anything normal about what's going on outside... I just picture penetrating blackness, nothingness, a hell-like place. I kind of suspect everyone to be dead and life ceasing to exist, or a new form of life being created. Or maybe some kind of limbo or something. Things can't be all normal with media everywhere. I'd be disappointed if that were the case.

i meant what did the adults taping stuff see? like were all their kids hovering in the air by dekka at that time, was that when everyhitng was all solved?

The FAYZ wall only faltered for a few seconds, the time when LP did the weird shape thing. So, if they did get it on tape they might've seen the kids at the Clifftop because it was right after Mary took the poof with the kids.
