Im 97% sure they actually saw the outside. Although, as thebreeze said, i do like the alternate universe theory more but earlier in Lies it said was talking about how sam's mother was on the outside of the FAYZ like orsay said, and personally i think orsay was the real deal and could see the parents dreams outside of the fayz

I reckon they really did see outside the fayz because thus causing his distress to make the barrier that he created falter for a moment.

I think they did see outside the FAYZ, seeing as Little Pete did make it in the first place. And say it was in an alternate universe or whatever, like their theory in GONE, once the wall went down, it just jumped back over to it's own universe. There's just a dome there with empty space inside it and outside their wall is empty space.

I think that they did NOT see outside the FAYZ for several reasons. First, Orsay had touched the wall up at the national park, and never saw anything. She only started seeing the dreams of parents after the gaiaphage touched her mind towards the end of HUNGER (anyone else find that suspicious??) Next, the gaiaphage sends its avatar Nerezza to tell Orsay to touch the wall and see the parents. (again, anyone else think that maybe Nerezza was making her see those things?) And in Plague, the gaiaphage told Brittney that it could alter the wall. I think that Pete just lost control of the FAYZ wall he created, so it was easy for the gaiaphage to manipulate it during LP's scream.

But it could still go either way now :/

We don't even know whether LP really was the person who created the FAYZ. We just assume because he's the only person who seems to have had the power to create it. It might've been the Gaiaphage or a person who specializes in creating the FAYZ. Not that I'm disagreeing with you, I think LP really is the creator. Just making sure we haven't crossed out all of the options.
