We've always known that he's open to making a movie/show, but I think this is the first time he's actually pursuing a TV deal.  And the "yet" suggests that he's fairly confident he'll find something.  How do you feel about this - excited, nervous, skeptical?
Personally, I'm excited - I'd be happy with a show/movie even if it sucks.

Without getting into any detail . . . Some very smart, very influential people in Hollywood are interested in GONE. Does it mean something will happen with TV or movie? No. It means that there is a renewed possibility. I promised to keep you all advised, and this is honestly all I know at this point. But I will say if these people can't do it, it probably can't be done.

So. Just met with some people interested in a GONE movie. I don't think I should throw names out there, but . . . Desperaux, Pleasantville, Sea Biscuit and . . . Hunger Games. This does NOT mean we have a movie. What it means is that some very serious people are looking very seriously at the possbilty. The odds are probably 1 in 20. But that beats hell out of zero. That is all.

[If you can't see the pictures, they say:

1st tweet: Announcement: There is currently no activity on the GONE movie or TV front. Too complex. Everyone wants it to be 'A' or 'B' and it's both.

2nd tweet: Hollywood consensus on GONE: It's Lord of the Flies plus powers? No! Can only be one, cut supernatural. I say: that'll suck.

3rd tweet: I tried to be very flexible but longer it went on the more I started thinking "this will hurt my series & my fans." Not worth it.

4th tweet: The BZRK movie is still apparently on-track. We'll try again on GONE when LIGHT comes out. Yes: it's LOTF & Spiderman. And yes, it works.

5th tweet: Already been through the weak TV adaptation thing with ANIMORPHS. Hurt the series, hurt the fans, and we made nothing. Right or nothing.]

I'm excited. MG really seems to know what he's doing and isn't going to make a deal unless it portrays the books the right way.

im kind of iffy about it. I like keeping the portrayals I have of the characters in my head and not having them replaced with actors.

A TV series would be good. Think about it, they might have like 5 episodes for each book. That could be up to 5 hours if they decided to show it an hour each time. They'll get some good stuff in if it becomes a TV series.

^Yeah and that way we wouldn't have to worry about so much being cut from a movie. I just hope that if it all works out the people who are cast are the right age. I mean 16 and 17 year olds wouldn't be bad for the older kids, but if they wanted to cast 25 year olds to play the 14 and 15 year olds that'd be just plain wrong.

YES! YES! YES! :taylor: ( Me doing a Gone style happy-dance)

* Is so excited*

Honestly, I've been hoping for this for ages. It would be so amazing, provided it's able to go through and they find the right cast. ( Annasophia Robb MUST play Astrid. I don't care that she's like 3 years too old. She'd be absolutely perfect.)

Kinda nervous. Nevertheless, if the TV series are only somewhat good, I really hope I'll be able to watch them via internet because the odds that I can watch a TV series from the US in Germany are really low. And if they'll be translated and broadcasted in Germany, that would be more than a small amount of time later .____.
